GERALD aNG
Physiotherapist
Bachelor of Physiotherapy
Gerald graduated with an Honours Degree in Physiotherapy from Trinity College Dublin-Singapore Institute of Technology. His interest in movement and rehabilitation began through sport, having played football from a young age before briefly progressing to a professional level with Albirex Niigata in the Singapore Premier League. This experience gave him first-hand insight into the demands of training, competition, injury, and rebuilding confidence in the body.
Before becoming a physiotherapist, Gerald worked as a sports massage therapist, where he developed a strong appreciation for hands-on care, movement assessment, and helping people manage physical discomfort in a practical way. He has also coached youth football and conducted group exercise classes, giving him experience working with people across different ages, activity levels, and movement goals.
Gerald has experience across private musculoskeletal practice, public healthcare rehabilitation, sports injury management, and post-operative rehabilitation. He has a strong interest in sports injuries, biomechanics, neck and spinal conditions, and lower limb rehabilitation, including ACL, knee, and ankle conditions. He is also certified in Level 1 and Level 2 Dry Needling.
His treatment approach combines clear assessment, hands-on treatment, dry needling where clinically indicated, exercise rehabilitation, movement retraining, and education. He is also interested in strength and conditioning principles, performance rehabilitation, and using objective assessments to better understand movement, strength, and recovery progress.
Outside the clinic, Gerald enjoys football, strength training, exploring new sports, and learning more about sports performance and rehabilitation. Catch him to find out what sport he is currently exploring.
